Body & Lighting
Mirrors, headlamps, tail lights and body panels are the parts most exposed to minor accidents, stone chips and general wear. They are rarely urgent in the way a brake or cooling fault is, but a vehicle with a broken headlamp or mirror is often not roadworthy, which makes fast turnaround important.

Why it matters
Lighting faults are a direct road-safety and legal-compliance issue — a vehicle with a non-functioning headlamp or tail light is both harder to see and easier to be pulled over for. Damaged mirrors and panels affect visibility and can hide further damage underneath if left unrepaired.
When to replace
Body and lighting parts are not scheduled maintenance items — they are replaced after damage or bulb or unit failure. LED headlamp units generally outlast the vehicle; halogen bulbs are the more routine replacement.
Signs you may need a replacement
- A headlamp, tail light or indicator not illuminating
- Cracked or fogged headlamp lenses reducing night visibility
- A mirror that will not hold its position or has cracked housing
- Visible rust starting at a panel edge or seam
- Panel gaps that do not line up evenly after minor damage
